610 Jobs to be created in Northern Ireland
Teleperformance UK announced that it is on track with its expansion plan to create 610 jobs in Northern Ireland by the end of 2011
They are creating up to 200 new jobs for Sainsbury’s at their Newry contact centre alone. This is in line with their announcement earlier this year of creating 610 jobs in Northern Ireland by the end of 2011.
Teleperformance has eight sites across the UK and is the global leader in the provision of outsourced business services. It has been awarded the contract to provide helpline and customer service facilities for Sainsbury’s supermarket’s first phase of adding non-food merchandise to its sainsburys.co.uk website, which will initially offer 4,500 home and lifestyle products increasing to 8,000 by September.
Northern Ireland’s Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said:
“This is a clear indication that Teleperformance is on track with its growth plans and today’s news provides a welcome boost to the local economy. Working closely with Invest Northern Ireland, Teleperformance has rapidly grown its presence and now employs over 2,000 people at two sites in Bangor and Newry, making it one of the region’s largest employers.
As a global company, it offers career opportunities in the growing business services sector, competitive rates of pay and facilitates the development of valuable, transferable skills.”
Jeff Smith, Chairman and Chief Executive of Teleperformance added:
“During difficult economic times we are continuing to grow and be awarded new business. I believe this is down to our relentless pursuit of quality delivery across all areas of our business. Rather than cutting back we are investing more than ever in coaching, mentoring, testing, and project management control.”
